Television series 'The Bill' to conclude this year

Popular television drama series 'The Bill' will cease production on 14 June this year.

The final episode of 'The Bill' will screen in the UK around August or September 2010.

'The Bill' has been screened in countries world-wide for over 26 years.

The announcement was made by ITV. Cast and crew received phone calls in the morning informing them of the news.

The decision was made after audience numbers started to decline over recent years.
